Preferred Lies – general area (when in operation)
When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area. Relief is within 6 inches from the original reference point.(spot of original ball). – the ball must not be placed nearer the hole than the reference point.
Preferred Lies – bunkers (in operation now)
Relief can also be taken in bunkers within 1 club length of the reference point. not nearer the hole.
Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
a. Beyond the inside line of the posts of any fences and or white stakes bordering the course. Beyond any white posts on the left of the 1st fairway at the green keepers area and on the left side of the18th fairway bordering the car park.
b. In or over the ditch at the 18th fairway at the green keepers area and on the right of the 12th fairway.
Black and white posts are movable obstructions
(Rule 15).
c. Beyond the white stakes bordering the Clubhouse.
d. Over the wall line at the rear of the 11th hole.
e. Beyond the whites posts on the right hand side of the 6th fairway
f. Beyond the white posts to the right of the 14th fairway
g. Beyond the whites posts on the right hand side of the 15th fairway
NOTE: Sub-station on the right of the 12th fairway is Out of Bounds and entry into it is prohibited.
No play Zone (Rule 16.1)
No play zone from the right hand side of the 12th hole next to the green marked by blue paint. Rule 16.1
Penalty areas (Rule 17)
All open ditches and burns are either red or yellow penalty areas (rule 17.1d (1) and (2))
Abnormal Ground Conditions
(Rule 16)
a. All roads and paths. A ball coming to rest on the gravel
pathway to the left of the 5th green may either be played as it lies or must be lifted and dropped in the grass bunker in the front left approach to the green.
b. All man made constructions are immovable obstructions other than the sleeper lining of the burn. Relief from sleepers may only be gained under penalty.
Relief is for Stance & Swing only, line of play does not qualify for relief.
c. All fixed sprinkler heads and associated irrigation equipment. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows: If the
ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which
a) is not nearer the hole,
b) avoids such intervention and
c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.
Practice Greens and Winter
Greens (Rule 13.1f)
All Practice Greens and Winter Greens are wrong greens.
Practice Areas
The Practice Areas are delineated by white posts with green bands and are an integral part of the golf course.
Free relief from the high netting at the practice area is only granted if it affects stance or swing. No free relief for line of play
Temporary Local Rules
a. All new trees which are staked and/or quilled should be regarded as an immovable obstruction and relief taken under Rule 16.1b.
b. Free relief may be taken from any areas of sunken drainage runs.
